An anthology of New York State History

The NEW YORK HISTORY REVIEW new york history reviewis a local history quarterly for all of New York State.

For over a century, the Statue of Liberty has been a powerful symbol of freedom and new opportunities. Unveiled in New York harbor in October 1886, she has greeted newcomers and returning travelers. Her grace and serenity inspires us to take a chance on ourselves, and to welcome change.

The Statue of Liberty is a monumental sculpture, portraying a woman escaping the chains of tyranny. In her right hand is the flaming torch of liberty. Her left hand holds a tablet on which is inscribed the date of United States independence, “July 4, 1776.” Her crown symbolizes the seven seas and continents.

Like the Statue of Liberty, this publication is a new beginning, opening new possibilities and directions - our Mission is to provide readers with a multitude of New York State history articles, and provide New York history writers with a publishing venue. We are dedicated to exploring all aspects of New York State’s rich and diverse history.
